December 26, 2007 Dear fellow Cruising Club of Virginia member, Not all of the important changes that CCV is making in 2008 will be apparent on the race course! In addition to the changes in the Spring and Fall Series events, we are making two significant changes in the membership process. The first change is that we will no longer ask you to complete a blank membership application form every year. Instead, the form we send you will already contain your information, and the only blanks will be for gaps in your membership record. All you will need to do is fill in any blank fields, make any corrections necessary with a pencil or pen, sign the form and send it to us in the mail with the appropriate payment. Also new for 2008 is the option to control what information will be listed in the CCV 2008 Racing Guide. You can tell us to leave you out of the book altogether, or just withhold your home, work or cell phone numbers and/or your email address. The second change is how we send the membership application form to you. As you know, postage rates went up again this year. In order to avoid an increase in membership dues, we are offsetting this increase by sending out the membership applications via email to all 2007 members who have a valid email address on file. You can expect to receive an email with your membership application during the first week of January. I encourage you to use this new method to renew your membership. If you decide to use the emailed form, please send it back to us within two weeks of receipt, or just reply to our email and let us know that we don’t need to send you a hard copy of the form. If the emailed version doesn’t work for you, or if you just prefer a hard copy form, just ignore the email version and we’ll send one to you in mid-January. Thank you for supporting CCV. If you have any questions, please reply to this email message or call me at (757) 344-5292. Sincerely, Dave Taylor Commodore |
